It’s going to be a busy next few months, with a bunch of readings and events coming up February, March, and April.
I’m pretty excited to announce that I’ll be back reading in Toronto, ON, for the first time in years (and launching my new collection, Some Nights It’s Entertainment; Some Other Nights Just Work), on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 8:00pm at the venerable Art Bar Reading Series, which is held at the fabulous Free Times Cafe (320 College Street, Toronto, ON).
The Art Bar is recognized as Canada’s longest running poetry-only, weekly reading series. Since 1991, it has featured both emerging and established poets from across Canada and occasionally from abroad.
It has become a hub for the poetry community, and entry point for new voices, a place for people to enjoy one of the oldest arts. While featuring no fewer than one hundred-twenty poets a year, The Art Bar provides another five hundred opportunities for people to present their poems on its open-stage.
In addition to yours truly reading from Some Nights It’s Entertainment; Some Other Nights Just Work, published by Gaspereau Press in Fall 2016), this edition of the Art Bar features poet/novelist/editor Elizabeth Greene and poet-performer Kath MacLean.
Things are set to begin at 8:00pm, but be sure to come early enough to grab a good seat and chat it up with friends and poets beforehand.
Admission/cover is $5, everyone is welcome, and books will be available for purchase on site.
I’ll also have copies of some broadsides (Bear, Harbour, etc.) as well as chapbooks for sale, for those interested in something more than just books.
Hope to see you there!
