Matt Robinson is excited to announce that he’ll be launching his new poetry collection, Some Nights It’s Entertainment; Some Other Nights Just Work, in Halifax, NS, on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 7:00pm when he reads at the venerable Saint Mary’s Reading Series in the Patrick Power Library on the Saint Mary’s University campus.
For more than twenty years, the Saint Mary’s Reading Series has welcomed many Canadian authors – fiction-writers, poets, authors of creative non-fiction – to their campus and the broader Halifax community. A true cultural institution, and the longest-running such program in Nova Scotia, the series presents both well-known and up-and-coming writers.
In addition to Robinson launching Some Nights It’s Entertainment; Some Other Nights Just Work, which was published by Gaspereau Press earlier in Fall 2016, this celebration of new Nova Scotia poetry collections will feature a veritable raft of poets (Deirdre Dwyer, Alyda Faber, Nanci Lee, Genevieve Lehr, and Margo Wheaton) launching a diverse array of new collections from Brick Books, McGill-Queens University Press, ECW Press, Gooselane Editions, and Thee Hellbox Press.
Things are set to begin at 7:00pm, but be sure to come early enough to grab a good seat and chat it up with friends and poets beforehand.
As always, admission is FREE, everyone is welcome, and books will be available for purchase on site from Halifax’s leading independent bookstore, Bookmark.
Matt will also have copies of some of his limited edition broadsides (Bear, Harbour, Dog, and others) as well as chapbooks for sale, for those interested in something more than just books. Hope to see you there!
