I’m thrilled to let everyone know that 2016’s limited-edition (only 50 signed and numbered copies in existence produced) Gaspereau Press-produced poetry broadside, ‘BEAR’ is NOW available.
Andrew Steeves at Kentville’s Gaspereau Press has always, throughout the decade we’ve been doing these pieces, developed a great concept and then executed it with aplomb. That said, this year, he’s gone above and beyond, and I’m blown away by the gorgeous artefact he’s made.
The poem text is set in 12-pt Linotype Palatino, while the author name block was set in some foundry 24-pt Palatino . The title block features some 20-line woodcut Delittle. All of this is printed in black and red on 16″ x 14″ sheets of 100lb Mohawk Superfine Text and set off by an amazingly hand-remdered linocut by Andrew himself that really captures the looming presence of a bear (or what might be a bear) along the bottom edge.
A limited quantity of SIGNED & NUMBERED COPIES (approx. 25) are AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE for $30, plus shipping.
Also on offer is the following Gaspereau poetry SUPER-PACK: the brand-new ‘BEAR’ broadside, plus a copy of the Gaspereau-produced, bpNichol Award-nominated chapbook ‘a fist made and then un-made’ (2013), and a copy of the brand-new trade poetry collection “Some Night’s It’s Entertainment; Some Other Nights Just Work” (September, 2016) for $50, plus shipping.
As usual, copies of older Gaspereau Press-produced broadsides from the last few years [‘table & chairs; set’ (2008), ‘cold spring song’ (2010), ‘the trail is a tangled plumb line’ (2011), ‘dog’ (2012), ‘february afternoon, near tampa’ (2013), ‘Terms & Conditions’ (2014), and ‘Harbour’ (2015)] are also still available for $5 each, plus shipping. Unfortunately, ‘heart’ (2006), ‘hero of the play’ (2007), and ‘rotary; roundabout’ (2009) are completely sold out.
