NEW BROADSIDE for 2016: BEAR

Andrew Steeves at Kentville’s Gaspereau Press has always, throughout the decade we’ve been doing these pieces, developed a great concept and then executed it with aplomb. That said, this year, he’s gone above and beyond, and I’m blown away by the gorgeous artefact he’s made.

bear-print-process-shot-oct-2016The poem text is set in 12-pt Linotype Palatino, while the author name block was set in some foundry 24-pt Palatino . The title block features some 20-line woodcut Delittle. All of this is printed in black and red on 16″ x 14″ sheets of 100lb Mohawk Superfine Text and set off by an amazingly hand-remdered linocut by Andrew himself that really captures the looming presence of a bear (or what might be a bear) along the bottom edge.

A limited quantity of SIGNED & NUMBERED COPIES (approx. 25) are AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE for $30, plus shipping.
