BOOK / READING NEWS: A GASPEREAU VISIT to TRY ON (BOOK) JACKETS

I was able to drive over to Kentville, NS on Friday afternoon and visit with Andrew (and Gary) at Gaspereau Press to tour the shop, chat books and publishing and printing, AND — most importantly — to run cover colours for ‘SOME NIGHTS IT’S ENTERTAINMENT; SOME OTHER NIGHTS JUST WORK’, which will be released NEXT MONTH (in September 2016).

Launch and most tour / promotional details are still in the works, but I do know that at this point I’ll be reading at the Gaspereau Press Wayzgoose in Kentville, NS on October 22, 2016 and at the Saint Mary’s University Reading Series (with Deirdre Dwyer, Genevieve Lehr, and Margo Wheaton) in early 2017. Other readings in Moncton, NB (at The Attic Owl Readings Series hosted by Lee Thompson) and Halifax, NS (at the gorgeous, new-ish Halifax Central Library) are also in the process of getting sorted. Going further afield to Toronto and Montreal is still in the cards as well. Let me know if you’re interested!

As for the cover itself, it features one of Gaspereau’s famous paper jackets constructed with materials from Montreal’s La Papeterie Saint-Armand. The 100% cotton rag fibre, rough surface, 140 lb coloured stock is the choice. Elephant Grey is the colour, with primarily black ink and another accent colour. As you can tell: red won the day in that regard:
